Less speed, more feed!

A three course course.

7th July 2019

How do we get there?

It’s easy, just check out the route, select your add-ons, then head to the checkout to build your own bespoke sportive experience!

1. Route – How to get from one course to the next!

There’s only one route for the Tour de Lewis, the chance to burn off one course and work up an appetite for the next!

Your three course course.

  • 51 miles
  • 2629ft climbing
  • British Cycling Difficulty Grade 2
  • Minimum ave speed: 10mph

Starting and finishing at the Moat House, Acton Trussell, the 51 mile Tour de Lewis route takes you to 2 more of their venues along the way, first the Bank House at Hixon, the second at Sandon with the Dog and Doublet.

In between we’ve devised a challenging and interesting route for you to navigate with a variety of terrain to help you work up an appetite in between feeds.

Starting with a climb up and over Cannock Chase, you’ll then enjoy a relatively flat run to your first feed at The Bank House (Hixon).

After that there’s a bit of climbing to look forward to as you head north until the high point of the route at 32 miles near Hilderstone.

With more than half the ride behind you it’s mostly downhill to the second feed at the Dog & Doublet (Sandon).

After that, with tastebuds sharpened you’ll be able to smell the finish, romping up Sandon Bank, over Brocton Hill and back to The Moat House for feet up and afters.

Your shorter three course course.

  • 39 miles
  • 1975ft climbing
  • British Cycling Difficulty Grade 1
  • Minimum ave speed: 10mph

The shorter 39 mile Tour de Lewis route takes you to the same 2 LP venues along the way, first the Bank House at Hixon, the second at Sandon with the Dog and Doublet.

Starting with the same climb up and over Cannock Chase, you’ll be accompanying your long route companions all the way to your first feed at The Bank House (Hixon). After that, you’ll part company on the way to Fradswell to take a shorter route back to the second feed at the Dog and Doublet in Sandon.

After that, with tastebuds sharpened you’ll be able to smell the finish, romping up Sandon Bank, over Brocton Hill and back to The Moat House for feet up and afters.

2. The add-ons:

The extra bits that personalise your ride

Exclusive Tour de Lewis T-Shirts

Our Tour de Lewis t-shirts are exclusive to the ride and made from comfy and durable heavyweight cotton. The jagged line on the design is the actual profile of your ride making this a real souvenir and emblem of your achievement on the day.

KOM Fuel Nutrition Packs

The food at our feeds will be packed with flavour, but as this is no “all you can eat” buffet, you might want to bring a little traditional energy food for the route.

We’ve partnered up with KOMFuel to provide nutrition packs for the ride on the day, a great way to sample the pick and mix service that you can have delivered to your door if you sign up with them.

And included for everyone…

When you finish the event you’ll get a medal and finishers gift as you cross the line.

View from the saddle:

After a long winter the Ride Staffs Spring Forward Sportive is a great chance to test early season fitness! There’s plenty to challenge you even though the route looks tame on paper. I like the fact that all Ride Staffs routes offer the me the opportunity to shorten things if I need to! Spring Forward is on my calendar and I am already looking forward to reconnecting with the RideStaffs family again in 2019
