We’re giving away some money:
To make cycling better in Staffordshire
In 2022 we started putting aside a minimum of 1% of sales (both for RideStaffs and our parent company Leadout) to fund projects that improve cycling in Staffordshire.
That fund hit the £500 mark recently and we felt that was a good time to launch our first round of donations.
So what’s the idea?
Here at RideStaffs we want more people using a bike here in Staffordshire. We’re not fussy what type of cycling that is, whether it’s on or off road, for business, pleasure, education or work. We just want to see more riding happening more often. Our way of encouraging more cycling here is to organise events and write about routes and places for cycling here on the website. But we realise that’s not enough and know there are lots of great organisations out there that are taking care of other parts of the jigsaw.
Now is our time to be a small part of that.
Who is eligible for the money?
We’re ideally looking to support a not-for-profit, social enterprise, community group or charity that’s operating here in Staffordshire
What can the money be spent on?
As we’re new to the business of giving grants, there’s going to be an element of learning as we go, but to get started here’s a few thoughts as guidance:
- We’ll fund infrastructure and equipment as long as its fixed to a project in Staffordshire
- We won’t fund feasbility studies, consultants or other professional fees.
- We’re happy to match fund or co-fund with other donors
- The funding for your project needs to be completely covered by the grant (or the remainder ready to go from other sources)
- We won’t fund ongoing running costs of existing projects
So if you’ve got a project that’s about getting more people cycling in Staffordshire, more often. Get in touch via the contact form on this site to start a discussion.
We don’t have a closing date for ideas, but we’ll award and announce as soon as we’ve found a project(s) that feel right then repeat later in the year when the pot fills up again.
