Made of Stone 2026 – 100km Gravel

Made of Stone returns in June 2026, hosted by PAU and designed by RideStaffs, the 100km gravel route mixes tarmac with gravel, green lanes, bridleways, and other mixed-surface roads, with around 25% on Made of Stone. Riders can expect scenic climbs, quiet lanes, and the thrill of a true gravelly adventure, fully supported throughout the day.
Made of Stone 2026 Gravel Route Overview:
The 100 km Staffordshire gravel route that blends tarmac with gravel, green lanes, bridleways, and other mixed-surface roads, with around 25% of the course on Made of Stone. Riders will face a few short, sharp climbs in the central section and a steady ascent toward the northern loop, followed by longer, swooping descents that drop through open countryside and woodland, giving a sense of momentum and reward after each effort.
We’ve called the off road bit’s of our ride sectors, like they do in races like Paris-Roubaix. So, like in that famous race, our off road bits are staggered throughout the route and vary in length. Some are a quick short cut along a bridle way, others a longer, extended section of green lane.
Unlike Paris-Roubaix, our race has a few lumps to go along with the bumps. So you’ll get to enjoy (or perhaps reflect gloriously on later) a few climbs as well as the rough stuff. More of the climbing on this one comes early – In fact, more than 60% of the climbing on the ride is done by the time we get to half way – and the toughest climb up past Beech caves is under your belt by the time you’re 10km into the ride.
There are 2 feeds on the route. The first is a refreshment stop at the village hall in Ashley after 20ish km and the second one comes just before half way in Cheswardine.

First Aid Support
Safety is always the top priority. Trained first aid staff courtesy of Heart Cross Medical will be available at key points along the Staffordshire route to assist with any incidents or medical needs.
