The RideStaffs Spring 50 –

An early season ride with a feed, starting from Canalside Farm, Great Haywood

We’re getting our 2023 season underway with a 50 mile ride starting and finishing at Canalside Farm in Great Haywood.

Coffee is included at registration and there’s a feed on the route. Plus we’ll have mechanical and first aid support on the day.

The route is designed to be a stern test, but an enjoyable one. The first half features climbs over Cannock Chase and the second half focusses on shorter punchier climbs out in East Staffordshire.

Because of capacity issues at Canalside, places on the ride are limited to 100 so don’t hang around

What’s included?

Entry fee for the ride includes a fully signed route on the day plus support for the ride along the way. Here’s what’s included:

At the Start:

We’ll have a free tea or coffee for every rider before the start of the ride at Canalside

Along the way:

We’ve included a refreshment stop on this ride and that will take place at the Maynell Ingram Arms after 30 miles. There you’ll be able to grab more tea or coffee and a pastry to fuel you through the last part of the ride.

And just in case:

We’re grateful to Heart Cross Medical for first aid support on the day, they’ll be at the start, the feed and at the finish in case of any mishaps along the route.

Mechanical Support on the ride will be provided by Swinnerton Cycles. They’ll be on hand to sort out any last minute issues before you get on the road as well as being on call for any show stopping issues on the route.

How to enter:

And if you’re looking for a shorter ride on the day?

We’ve devised a short route that’s just over 40 miles which you can choose to take on the day.

It’s useful to have this saved on your phone or GPS in case you need it on the day. And you’re very welcome to make this your planned route if you’re just after something shorter. The route is the same as the 50 up till the 30 mile refreshment stop, but offers a quicker route back to Canalside.

Please note though, we’re not signing this route, so you’ll need to have either the digital file or the map printed off if this is what you’re planning.
